Sick Leave and the New Contributory Model: What You Need to Know

    Simplification of the Contributory Cycle

With the implementation of the new contributory model, the communication of sick leave to Social Security has gained a new paradigm. The system has become more automated, more flexible and with retroactive correction mechanisms that simplify life for Human Resources teams.

    The central question

What to do when sick leave is communicated late to the employer? The answer lies in understanding the three pillars that the new model provides.

    ⚙️ Automation

The system automatically calculates contributions based on work interruptions - such as sick leave - already communicated to Social Security. Less manual work, less room for error.

    🔄 Validation flexibility

If a sick leave does not yet appear in the Social Security proposal, the company has full autonomy to replace the calculated values with real values, always ensuring correct contributory assessment.

    ↩️ Retroactive corrections

For situations outside the normal deadline, the new Special Request allows you to justify and correct values from past months simply, without complex bureaucratic processes.

"We are modernising Social Security to make the management of contributory obligations more transparent and efficient for everyone."

This evolution represents a concrete step in the digitalisation of relations between employers and Social Security. The objective is clear: reduce administrative friction, ensure contributory compliance and offer companies the necessary tools to manage unforeseen situations without penalties.

For HR teams, this translates into fewer calls, less paperwork and a more agile process - especially in cases where workers submit sick leave documents with some delay.
